The processing and maintenance of donation transactions involve several third-party service providers, including the payment gateway (Stripe), infrastructure provider (Amazon Web Services – AWS), and card issuers. These providers apply fees to cover the costs associated with maintaining secure systems and architecture required to safeguard personal and financial information.

These charges are essential to ensure that donor details remain protected and that funds are transferred safely and securely from the donor to the recipient’s (Donee’s) bank account. In addition to these third-party costs, iDonatio applies its own platform fees to support the continued operation, maintenance, and development of the donation service.

Why transaction fees?

The security of your personal and financial information is our highest priority. To ensure the integrity of all donation transactions, iDonatio partners with Stripe as our regulated payment gateway and Amazon Web Services (AWS) as our infrastructure provider.

The transaction fees applied include charges from these suppliers, which cover the costs of maintaining a secure and compliant environment for processing donations. In addition, iDonatio invests continuously in the upkeep and development of our platform to guarantee reliability and seamless service for all donors. These operational costs are incorporated into the transaction fees to maintain both compliance and service quality

Donor pays fees option

iDonatio provides a Donor Pays the Fees option. Under this arrangement, donors may elect to cover the applicable transaction charges of 5.75% plus £0.30 per donation.

When a donor chooses to cover these fees, the recipient (Donee) receives the full donation amount without deductions. If the donor does not opt to cover the fees, the stated transaction charges are deducted from the donation before disbursement to the recipient.
